So theres this pond...beaver problem trapping for the farmer. Ive got most of the beaver out of there. Im quite certain im down to 2 beaver left. One in the pond to the north and one in the pond to the south. The beaver in the north, I have his right foot and hes a little trap shy to say the least. The beaver in the south should be the big female and shes done with my game and gone into deep hiding. By the lodges it is super deep. I am at my wits end with these guys, ive tried every set I know of with little success on these last guys. Snaring season is done here in MN. Tell me what sets you guys would try. Thanks (PS. the yellow dots are lodges, and the green area are dams )

I would put a floating castor mound set about 20’ out from each lodge , stake the float and run a drowner cable with a foothold. Make sure it is different castor then what you’ve previously used Jake Sounds like a very interesting setup to me and I think it may very well be successful.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

[Have any pics of your floating castor mounds? Here's a 330 float- 2x4's - 24" long with 1/2" foam between 2x4's. May have to chisel out where springs fit into slots for tight fit. Got one- Remake- 330 float catch-

That's great Hern! Thank you, I love how you showed the camoflauged float, that helps ME a ton!

Alot of great ideas. I used conis last year in the fall but I dont think...think...they have wised up to them. If a beaver has a lodge all to himself...will he still use bank dens? Its about the only runs that arent in 15 feet of water. Thus far out of these ponds I have pulled a 56lb, 30lb, and a kit.

Those floats look mice but just in case it doesn't work wait three weeks, put on some camo, get a good accurate rifle, quietly hide close by the house and toss a brick or a big rock into the water and wait.
Just passin through
