Let’s see some photos of cubbies made with a chainsaw. I’ve seen some neat looking wolverine and marten cubbies posted in the past.

I was going to make some this year for fisher, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm anxious to see peoples responses to your question, in particular how they mount the trap.

I don't know many, if any, people who use cubbies for anything these days. I big log in the right place would make a good set-up for wolverine but a bucket is a lot easier

I build cubbies for wolverine, but they tend to look like this, with foothold traps.

Generally more work than necessary to chainsaw pieces for a cubby. Chop down a few poles, grab some deadwood or whatever and throw a cubby together. Or these days.........the official white 17 snare pole set seems a better deal then a cubby!

There was a good article in one of the fur magazines-FHA i think,by a BC trapper on how to build wolverine cubbies right on site out of big thick chunks of log.
If I remember correctly, with the chunk of log on its side,he took the top off, then made two cuts, one on each side, then a plunge cut for the bottom and a plunge cut at the back, then two slots, and then spiked the top back on.

That's fancy, white. I see it even has a sort of roof extended out to keep snow out.
