I'm working on establishing a contract for removal of nuisance beaver. I'm wondering what sort of insurance this type of contract might require. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

To my knowledge there is no such requirement in Wi. I'm not trying to talk you out of it. I just don't think there's an insurance requirement per se in Wi, unless the landowner is requiring it of you.

Some municipalities, homeowners associations, and upscale property owners may require liability insurance, usually $1 million coverage. For verification, you can give them a copy of the insurance declaration page. I carry a few copies in a file folder in a briefcase in my truck.

You should begin by forming a limited liability company and then get liability insurance. I have liability insurance that covers everything in my business. I sent them my brochure and asked that an underwriter make certain that everything is included including the use of firearms. My policy is for $2 million with a limit of $1 million per incident. The extra $1 million of coverage cost very little.

Send me a private message if you need additional help.

Best wishes in your new venture.

There have been only 2 basic insurance companies that have been strongly involved in the ADC business. One is Christian/Baker, which is only through NWCOA. The other is West Bend Mutual ( Bob & Sons ) right here in Wisconsin.
