Been trapping beavers along#1 Highway -eastern Manitoba.Woman stopped today as I was coming out of the ditch with a beaver and proceeded to force her anger upon myself for killing beavers etc.She stated that is was so cruel to be trapping beavers and that she has recently released a beaver that was caught in a trap and still alive-after she had released it she stated that she threw the trap into the water.Very earthy lady I might add.I proceeded to call B.S.-as I have never seen a live beaver in a trap that would allow you or anyone to do this without sever lacerations from beavers attacking etc.She stated that she talked to the beaver and it understood her love for animals and allowed her to release it from the trap.

So I simply stated"Thats the biggest crock of B.S. I had ever heard heard"-if in fact it were true-I sure hope your hubby had a poop ton of gauze and bandaids to bandage up the damage you would have received from an angry beaver.Oh and by the way I just took a picture of your license plate and am calling the R.C.M.P. because I think you may have escaped from the mental institute.

Oh by the way did I mention that the backhoe tractor was a mile behind me tearing up beaver lodges etc.. that plugged culverts and flooded out provincial highways and roads-oh the backhoe operator talked to the beavers before he did this so they would understand.LMFAO

Did that earthy lady still have all her fingers? I can’t see someone unfamiliar with trapping releasing anything other than an extremely small kit beaver. And I doubt they could even release a small one without a catch pole. I think she’s full of it.

lol, the thing people say ,

I released an otter once with out a catch pole(they were still protected at the time & it was out of season chicken predator control close to my chickens). But, I used a 3/4 piece of plywood and I know how my traps work unlike the colorful lady. She is full of it. Besides unless something doesn't function properly all my beaver are dead quickly. Maybe she saw it get trapped and swam out and released it from the drowning set up in time. I know she would have trouble with it walking away out of a body grip.

Bet she loved being called a liar.

Edit: come to think of it explain drowning set to her. When she tries to swim out to save it it will have become a dual drowning set. I don't think she would make it back to the bank. Well I guess maybe down stream a piece she would.

Come on please tell another story of what happens today.

Had the same thing happen a number of years ago. Coming up a bank with a pair of beaver, taken at the land owner's request. What makes people think that they have the right to accost someone ? I like to be a gentleman, but that kind of conduct eliminates that.

Trapping a park district lake one year I was talking to the supervisors while loading a pair of beaver in my truck. A man walked up to us and said he hoped I was relocating them. I said "Sure am-to the back of my truck". I guess he was happy with his answer.
