TyDeege OP trapper T Joined: Apr 2020 Posts: 15 Montana	Going to try my hand at wolf trapping in Montana this year. I got to looking at the regs though and noticed that all snares must be equipped with a breakaway device set to release at a max of 350 pounds. Ive never snared wolves but a 350# breakaway seems pretty light for them! Does anyone have any experience with trapping/snaring wolves in MT??

Taximan trapper Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 5,459 Montana	Check the website for wolf regs.It should help you till you can get to a class.Not sure if the offices are open but there is a seperate reg book for wolves,hunting and trapping.You just need your regular trapping license if you trap them only.
