Midway USA has PPU loaded ammo 50 round boxes for 22.99 and PPU brass for 16.99

for that price unless they are going to ding you hard on the shipping of the ammo it makes sense to buy her 4-5 boxes of the loaded ammo and have fire formed cases , with a little care she might be old and grey before she wears out that brass in a Hornet.

it may be worth looking into CFE-BLK powder it was developed for 300 blackout but it makes top velocities in small case cartridges and keep the pressure low , 22 hornet and 22K hornet it tops the velocities of every other powder I have seen data for and at lower pressures than most of the rest.

.22 hornet is a great little cartridge, one of my favorites. Hornet brass is thin kinda like 30/30 brass, don't get as many loadings from them as standard cartridges. im not familiar with PPU, if that's Privi Partisan (spelling?) ive found that brass in standard cartridges to be very hard and hard to size, just my experience. my pet load is 11.2 grains of IMR 4227 and a 45 grain sierra hornet bullet. It is a .22 cal made specifically for the hornet. good luck!

x2 on 4227

PPU, if that's Privi Partisan , yes they mark many of their boxes now PPU in large letters then small Privi Partisam the head stamp is PPU

I am not a hornet re-loader , it may be thin it may be different than other brass

if you keep pressure down I can get a lot of loading from 30-30 brass which I do reload

annealing the brass and neck size only can also make brass last much longer.

even if you only get 10 loads from a piece of brass and anneal at 5 loading and you start with 250 , that is 2500 rounds later more than many people ever get through a single shot center fire hunting rifle.

make sure to make sure the bullet is sitting as close to perfect as you can in the neck of the case before running it up in the die. I have crushed a few necks if it aint started good first. I load with imr 4227 also. sierra makes a hornet specific 22 bullet. works good on deer in a pinch.
