I have not done much with it but is all over close to me.The farmers are so busy they are hard to catch. What is the best tool to dig mayapple?

Small shovel, it grows near the surface. Not much work involved and easy to clean.

Thanks ! I got a small patch dug with a sharp shovel. But the farmers are picky about going on there land. I told them i only hunt roots ,but they are busy.

Kenny,,, I use a round point shovel...mayapples are pretty much on top of the ground

Thanks GUYS i did not get much .what little i did get i replanted at home. Getting some solomon seal shipped off .And starting on butterfly pleurisy root.
