Didn't want to hijack the buy from a farmer thread. Went to our local store here in SW Missouri - part of a 12 store chain and supplied by the biggest wholesaler in the midwest - AWG - hamburger was $6.99 a pound. Friend said in Kansas city its 8.99 a pound. that is just nuts.

wow ...ranchers are still getting 50 t0 60 cents per pounds!

A friend of mine in cow country Nebraska took a picture in the local store of a package of hamburger, $9.15 a pound. Talk about price gouging, oh that's right. Trump is looking into it. He's not worried about the common people.

With all that's going on in the world, the president should be concerned with the price of hamburger? Don't think so.

You might want to spend a few minutes with the constitution of the USA and find out the division of rights and responsibilities between the states and federal government. We've gotten way out of line already we don't need it taken any farther.

Don't need or want government to regulate markets. If price is too high, people won't pay it. If they are willing to pay it, then that's not gouging.

Just got home from local locker and they said burger will be $7 pound on Monday. Prices are changing every day is what we were told.

glad i got 80 lbs of venision burger in the freezer,i stock my freezers up for one year ahead.

I have enough speedy beef burger In the freezer until this coming season.

Same here got plenty if meat but I do feel bad for the folks that don't hunt / stock up gotta be a tough deal

If some of you understood what's going on and how the (foreign owned) packers are able to control the entire industry to increase their profits, you'd understand why people talk of government involvement. I sure don't have an answer, but it can't continue the way it is.
