I'll be following this thread too. The most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn were a pair of Ariat work boots, unfortunately the soles fell off at just over a year. On a pair of Irish Setter work boots now and they're not as comfortable, but they're not bad.... only 5 months in on them so far.

They're not lightweight, and they're not inexpensive, but the best boots you'll ever wear are custom-made. Check out Nick's Custom Boots: https://nicksboots.com/I put mine on first thing in the morning, and take them off just before bed each night. I love them.

Not sure how they will hold up in long run, but my son is wear a pair wood land fire fighting boots.. He likes them so far and I guess we'll see how they hold up. I'm not sure of the brand but I know they were not cheap.

For hiking, I wear LaCrosse rubber knee boots. You'd be surprised how many less ticks you get

The only DANNERS that I find lately are made in Vietnam. ?? Most others, China. Been looking for a few weeks for something I like. Anyone know where ASOLO boots are made? If you can stomach going into bend the danner boots store in the box factory has a bunch of american made danners ......just look for the flag on the boot
