I set out some chunk beaver tail over a year ago and left it out through a indiana winter, is it still good it looks nicely separated. Would the chunks left at the bottom be good coyote bait?

Beaver tail oil keeps giving. Drain off collected oil and begin another render period.

Thanks guys, do I have to add anything to the chunks to use as bait or can I just put it in a old bait jar and call it good?

When I made mine up,the coons somehow got the lid off and ate every bit of the solids ( i call it sludge}. Had all the chunks of beaver tail pieces not touched. My guess just using the sludge would be excellent by itself. I have some dry dog food that I will be mixing with it to use in my DPs. And will be trying the beaver tail pieces at my coyote sets this coming season.

I used pelletized floating fish food and tail oil and it made an excellent k-9 bait. But I also grind up my tail chunks once they stop producing enough oil to make it worth siphoning out of the bucket. They will still produce a little oil, which is a good thing.
