Just for the heck of it I measured the MB 650 and it is 6" inside across jaws and 6 1/2" post to post. So it seems odd to me if the duke is 6" inside jaw to jaw how it would be so much bigger than the MB 650 post to post.

Same here Flint. Frame edges are sharp. The dogs on mine need filed down a bit because the notch is pretty long and the pan creep was more than I like. Easy fix. Looks like the mb 550, duke 550 and 650 all take the same dog. Looks like a good trap and very strong. Wish MTP would come out with a trap to compete with the duke 650 but until then duke is the only girl at the dance. Yotes will tell me if it’s a winner or not.
I'm itchin' to see a coyote twitchin'.

I measured mine and it's over 6 1/16" on the inside, it puts it barely over the limit for Kentucky. I would love to use it but my luck I'd get the wrong F&W officer and he'd confiscate my traps, so I think that I'll just stick to the 550 just to be on the safe side. It really does feel and look like a good trap and with a little TLC I think that it would be an excellent yote trap. trap

One recommendation I have is on the Duke 550s and 650s, take a flat file and de-bur the under side of the pan where he dog will actually contact. You'll get less creep and a more repeatable fire every time. I also make sure to square the dog and nightlatch as some we're almost like a miles trigger with he little tooth on he end. But other than that, they are sweeeeet.
