got a call to trap some marmots.never attempted to catch any. ive got cage traps and some cantalope. any other suggestions?

You can use bait but most guys on here will tell you to positive set it with your cage. Make a funnel of some sort to enclose end of cage so direct over the hole. A "nose cone" woodchuck comes out bam gets caught. Ideally use a double door Comstock trap and can leave both ends open is my ideal set. if you search woodchucks in the search bar theres a lot of posts covering this.

I agree with NW above.

If you are going to do this as part of a business, buy Comstock 9x11x18 double door traps with nosecones. They increased my catch rate.

They love sweets, apples bits with sugar work good.
Pre chum the area with a small amount to get their attention , do not over feed.
Then place the trap with a couple treats on the trail and a piece behind the trigger pan
Smaller traps will have lighter triggers, but run whatcha got
