Alright so I'm taking a crack at making some bait, commercially available stuff is pretty expensive lol (I still might buy some though)
All that I've done is smashed and or blended everything up.

I decided to go with: Chicken hearts, livers, and necks, leftover cooked chicken, beef fat from steak we had the other night, and pigeon breasts.
As you can see the consistency is honestly pretty good. It came out to be a gallon or more.
I'm now gonna leave it outside for some days until it gets ripe.

After that I'll add pickling salt, glycerine and possibly a little beaver lure.

This is my first time making predator bait so if you have any recommendations or suggestions leave them below please!

Something will eat it for sure.

How are you planning on letting gases that are produced escape, while keeping flies out of it?

If your going to add any commercially bought ingredients id go with a bait solution instead of a beaver lure, at least it is designed hopefully to attract coyotes

The lid isn't super tight so I'd say it should be good for a bit.

Thanks, I don't think I'm gonna buy any bait solutions for it.

X2 on the bait solution I like Trapper Art's or Northland lure's both made locally here available online at Trapperartssupply.com. They both increased the draw of my bait noticeably.

Looks like a darn good start, MySide. Sounds like a good recipe. I would suggest taking notes so you can duplicate the ingredients and process when you need to.
Also very impressive that your feet still look relatively clean.

Amazing what a small space fly eggs show up. I have two five gallon half buckets of bobcat and Nelson solution going and a gallon of rattlesnake that is in the jar loosely sealed, in a bucket with lid or n two heavy garbage bags, I’d like to bury all the time but it’s too rocky in my little holler.

Also have some cat and otter glands going in a quart jar in a bucket covered n peat.

If you are using pickling salt, there is no need for glycerine. If you are trapping around deer, hares or porcupines, they will be attracted to your bait.

Put the lid on tape It closed hen drill a hole in the lid and stick in length of tubing. Tape that in tight then stick the end of the tubing In a jar filled with water. The gas will escape but the flies won't be able to get In.
