What's the easiest way to set foot holds? I'm tuning a 100 traps. Setting pan tension.. and there must be an easier way than stepping on them? Bending over. anyone use a vise ? C clamp ?
I have to sell all my free Duke 650s since I can't set them. And using my feet and bending over Is not an option. LOL
MB makes a one hand setter for their 650s, would probably work on the Dukes also. I've never used it, but thought about making a pair of setters similar to the ones they make for 750s, I use those and set 750s over my knee, and made a larger set for homemade wolf traps I made that run Bridger #9 springs, those work really well and can set them over my knee easily, and those are stout springs! Leverage is the key, I know my MB650s don't provide too much leverage with the short spring levers. I can set them by hand, but it is about as strong a trap as I want to do that with, and I always wear gloves when setting coyote traps, I've set them at the house barehanded when working on/tuning them and the spring levers dig into the hands pretty bad.

Beav I bought 2 dozen from TA last weekend and these things are stout! Gonna make this 38 YO grunt this fall when setting! Nice traps though and cannot wait to get them in the ground.
Beav you are not getting any younger I would buy one hand setters for your different traps ,,because there not going to get easier. I have noticed that lol putting on a steel roof by myself . Even my sweat is sweating lol.
I have a set I use on my Bridger 5 coils. Sure makes it easy, especially when a beaver has it's hind foot buried in one with the toes poking out through the jaws just above one of the levers.
