Looking back, I am sorry I didn't take the time to study these a bit more and get more pictures. The general consensus is the flat 4 prong drags had a wire ring. I was so impressed to finally see examples of the solid rings, that I didn't even pay attention to the model of 4 1/2 they belonged to. crazy

Dale,
At least one of them was an Oneida Community, N.Y. pan.

Here is a New old stock 4 prong from the Woodstream collection. There was no documentation with the drag, so who knows what the story is. By far, the wire ring is the norm but the cast ring does exist and appears to be legitimate. Although, there are reproduction drags that have the solid ring and are not correct.

Thanks for the input Dean.... Much appreciated
I was leaning towards it being on an early OC too. One was just a complete chain set up, the other was on the trap... Maybe the owner or someone that paid attention will chime in..

Thanks for clarifying that Dave. For some reason I had to run and by the time I got back everything was getting put away before the rain. You had some pretty great stuff there and I was glad to see it....

I’ll confess I usually hesitate when I see those cast rings but that’s the best evidence I’ve seen so far - thanks for posting the pics.
