You just never know by a pic. I bet it weighs less than 200lbs. The picture weighs that much, Its a shooter for sure. you will go along time before seeing one that size. as for weight, 300 +.

You just never know by a pic. I bet it weighs less than 200lbs. The picture weighs that much, Its a shooter for sure. you will go along time before seeing one that size. as for weight, 300 +. Maybe. He did say the bear is only 2’ from the camera. Paws look small, long pointy nose, long pointy ears, that usually means small bear. But pics are hard to tell.

Two characteristics that will help you determine if a bear is reaching the 400 lb category: torso will appear as though it's barely clearing the ground and with a frontal view it'll seem like you can park a Volkswagen between it's front legs/paws. This bear shows neither of those characteristics and also lacks the pumpkin head which causes the small looking ear effect. Nice bear! but I'm leaning to the high 200s. Nope, that bear is a lot bigger than black bears get in the Yukon and we get the occasional 300 pound black bear. I've taken big grizzlies that would go well over 700 with small heads and smaller bears with big heads.
