I have been very lucky finding hunting cloths at second hand stores, and I like wool.
The most important thing to me is good boots and binoculars.

Big bill wool gear. Silent and warm, blends in nice and is reasonably priced. In the state's I think big bill is the same as codet. Gostwear.com has good selection. Sloooow processing times though.

In early Oct it can be blazing hot, but you can also expect snow at any time. The end of Oct it will more than likely be cold.

I prefer wool but it can be heavy.

In the last year I have bought Sitka heavyweight top, plan on buying the bottoms. When the top is combined with either a thin wool or synthetic base layer it does a great job of keeping you warm.
Where you are going it could be 10 degrees in the morning. Maybe snow. OR it may be dry and warm on an off year. Plan for both including a wind proof layer (preferably with a hood). Just in case.
Carry a decent day pack and you can take off or put on as needed.

I will vouch for kuiu clothing. I was hesitant to spend the coin but it holds up really well. Its pricey for a reason, theres alot of r&d in technical clothing. Its actually a bit cheaper than sitka or first lite. Its suited me fine for Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and Montana. Can it be done in jeans and a flannel, absolutely it can but I'd rather be as comfortable as possible. We dont horseback or wheeler in we have to walk it. Generally 5 to as much as 8 miles into the wilderness. I only take very little clothing so having something warm that also breathes really helps with that.

Definitely. A guide for our outfitter was mauled 2 yrs ago by a grizzly. Bear spray & Glocks will be on the ready. And if we get something one of us will be on guard at all times.

Good looking gloves, but for that price I would think they should be gortex or similar material.

Ive got wool and a full set of kuiu . I wear different gear for different hunts and conditions. Have i hunted in wranglers you bet and still do. Kuiu is a great layering system and i wear it trapping at times . Its amazing how much more freedom of movement there is in the pants compared to jeans or wool. As for puffy jackets just another name for the high end down that you dont want the loft of the down compromised.

I buy all my camo on Ebay.

I have underclothes from a place called Sporthill. Thin or medium weight polyester type stuff. They are marketed as running clothes. I have been very satisfied with this clothings performance.

Light weight wool if it's warmer, heavier if it's cold. That is all I have ever needed.

I should have listened to you. I wish I wouldn't have bought the Kuiu Super Down Pro Glassing Glomitt gloves. They aren't very good. They're noisy & they don't seem to keep my hands any warmer than cheaper gloves. They're bulky & really hard to maneuver a bow release with. The biggest issue might be that they don't fit tight around the wrist, letting cold air in. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I wouldn't recommend them. Save your $ folks.
