You can wear jeans and flannel and get the job done. It just depends on how comfortable you want to be while you're doing it. Some outdoor clothing is overpriced, some is not. S&P is correct, Rockslide is a good resource.
I would do your research and then start looking around for a good deal.
https://www.sierra.com is a good place to start.
ol'dad
I wear the same stuff I wear trapping. Bank on wool if it's going to be nasty weather wise. I just laugh at all the dummies in kuiu, first lite type stuff. Most of those guys are worse than women when it comes to fashion needs.
An actual quote from rokslide:
Puffy function question
"So in thinking through my system, I have a stone glacier grumman jacket. Its a little big on me... I'm normally a medium but went with large. I keep going back and forth on keeping the large or going for a medium. Keeping the large makes sense if I wear it over a base layer, mid layer fleece, and maybe my peleton 240. However, I hate baggy jackets and wonder if a medium just makes more sense. So for those who run a puffy, or are you running more of a fitted puffy or baggy to wear over layers? I hope that makes sense....
Thanks for the feedback."
I swear this world is getting gayer every day.
First off .......men wear down jackets, ..........they don't "run fitted puffys".
Second.......if you've been on this planet for 20 October's and don't know how to dress, hunting isn't for you.
3rd........rokslide's banner should be a QBLT pride flag. If one of the kuius put a label on a pink xxxxx hat, the new crowd would stand in line to get em, and pay $300 for it.
This toxic femininity will be the end of us.
