Another post about "you know you're not in a liberal area when....." reminded me of a situation last year.
My brother's gun shop has a range behind it used for concealed carry qualifications & training purposes. A couple of times a year he has a bunch of friends & family over for what is known around here as a "shoot." Swinging doors, hostage-bad guy, through the obstacles, distance targets, etc. Handguns, rifles, shotguns, combos. Potluck table, tub full of sodas, etc. A lot of good, clean fun.
Anyway, last spring we were having one when a distant neighbor complained. so the county mounties came to investigate. Nothing to it.
The cops arrived as we were taking a refreshment break. They were invited to join in (we're very pro-blue line here) and they did. As usual the table conversation has a lot of "mind if I try that new gun of yours" kind of thing. One of the officers contributed with "anybody want to shoot a full-auto AR? You have to supply your own ammo of course." It was a big hit.

So, in conclusion, you know your not in a liberal area when the local popo is a part of your "shoot."

P.S. if you want a bucketful of trouble buy that parts kit. They are out there though. Tell me again about the rich guy in NV shooting up that concert with a bump stock.

Shot a belt fed SAW once full auto, fun gun. Amazing how fast a belt goes. Love the gun store in vegas.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I'd rather shoot one bullet at a time and hit the target every time. 3rd Armored Division M16 champion 1985.

P.S. I don't much care for changing out red hot barrels with asbestos gloves much either.

BTW don't set those red hot barrels on your camouflage netting. The netting starts on fire, then you got another problem. Not to mention the camouflage effect is not so good when it is a signal fire. frown

I had the family at the range shooting some clays. Officer pulled in and opened his trunk. I didn't pay much attention till I heard a mag dump. I walked over, he had an MP5. He asked if I wanted to try it, I said &#?! YES I wanna try it. Amazing how fast 30 rounds disappear
