I have bridger duke northwood square jaw traps. Could I person take 3/16 or 1/4 inch round stock. Cut pieces 3 to 3.5. Weld in place to laminate trap. Would it work the round stock?

Yes. Only problem is getting round stock lined up right. If you take a junction box cover in-between the jaws it makes life easier.

Offset square jaws needed thicker spacers
Note rounded ends of lams

John, do you angle grinder those ends off to a slope? I had a guy do so from me and I did that because they were hard on the corners of my hands.

I rounded them to not cut critters feet or trappers hands.
I found yrs ago that grinding the angle you mentioned leaves sharp corners.
It was easier/faster to pre-round the lams for me too.

I just use a couple of nails and a pair of vice grips.

+1
I'm laminating some Bridger 1.5 OS and using a 1 x 2 to make sure the lams are flush with the jaws.

I am building live traps. I use 1/4 smooth rod for frames on them. I have a bunch of pieces of 1/4 rod left over. I can use it or just buy 3/16 rod. I buy 5 sticks or 100ft at a time 1/4 rod. So I have enough for a few days.

So I just need to buy a junction box cover. It will help line the round stock in place.

Ok I got a box cover yesterday. Just put cover inside of jaws. Now spot welded rd stock right up side of box cover on each side?
