I’m not a very good coyote trapper, but I just use commercial baits and lures. Some of my favorites are cavers violator 7, Lenons coyote all call, coyote super all call, etc. Check out Lenons selection. They are a top notch product, have a good selection, and they are great to deal with. Good luck!!!

Winter Wildlife Control's "SmokeHouse" bait is phenomenal!

After 200+ years, why would a government want to take your guns away, unless they were going to do something you would shoot them for???

I've hear anise oil and almond oil are both to some extent a canine attractant. Foxes and coyotes both like eggs. Skunk, muskrat, mouse, venison, groundhog, porcupine, beaver, bobcat, and fish are all good meats to use. I'm not sure about coyotes but I know foxes like sweet stuff early on. Their stomach contents will attract young coyotes.

Define barn dirt

Fine dust particles mixed with decomposing animal droppings, possibly bones and blood. You never know what could happen in the barn

I’m assuming you need dry dirt? If so, bridges are great places to go. Sometimes it’s sandy dirt, but it’s better than trying to use mud.
