I've heard of people using the fish "juice" that is leftover from making some rendered fish oil as a raccoon bait. So here's my question.

Is there any use for the Beaver tails that are left in the jar after you get the beaver tail oil off the top? I filled 2 gallon glass jars and put a brewing relief valve on top this last March, and I've let it render all spring and summer long. I now have some beautiful dark beaver tail oil and about a gallon and a half of gray rendered down sludge. I don't want to throw it out if it's of any use.

Very good fox and coyote bait. Will continue to produce a little oil which is a plus.

If you’d chunked up the tails, those leftovers are perfect for putting down dirtholes.
But keep in mind BTO is great in a dirt hole or double rock set or compass or triangle set or rub set too.

I think the leftover chunks are better than the oil for coyotes. I’m thinking of grinding my oldest chunks to make a paste, just for ease of use .
