I want to go a little bigger and go for coyote, fox and cat. You’ll have to give me some tips on tanning the hides if you tan them yourself

I plan on catching coon, mink, coyote, fox and weasel this year hopefully. I have been having a hard time finding muskrats this year, my local creek is so much dryer than normal. there is not enough deep spots for them to thrive, but my local area gets real swampy in the winter and there are areas that you could normally walk through and stuff and they will be under 1-2 feet of water. Animals like mink and rats might migrate to that spot but I know this year I will be able to take a shot at some under ice trapping, even though its only about 2 foot of water in some areas.

how do you trap weasel?[/quote]

Some people use a weasel box with a #1, #1.5, or a snap trap. I've seen pictures of weasels in #110's but it wouldn't be a first choice. #0 traps are great for weasels especially if you like to use them already, but I honestly think the #1 trap is better since it can catch a larger portion of the weasel rendering a stronger hold on it compared to a #0. Be aware that snap traps may be considered body gripping traps. Weasels are very active little animals and will eat a lot of other animals for their size. I find tracks near small culverts, swampy areas with a lot of tall grasses. If there are alot of rodents like mice around weasels will come around. They are very small and lightweight animals, so your trap pan should have no pan tension and a hair trigger should be made so that the slightest downward movement sets off the trap. Weasels won't pay much but one things for sure, they are a cool little fur to hang around or to show to your friends. They make a nice decoration. I think they used to be worth some money back in the day. I've heard stories about weasels getting caught in traps set for much bigger animals like bobcats and foxes, which leads me to think that they might be a bait stealer at times.

Everything. Coyotes, bobcats, fox, raccoon, & skunk. Hopefully I can score on a badger this season.

If it has fur, and an open season in my area, I plan on trapping it. Sell to taxidermy market and fur market. No tanning for me.

Wish I had more time to trap....

After 200+ years, why would a government want to take your guns away, unless they were going to do something you would shoot them for???

Raccoon, mink, muskrat, fox (Red and gray), coyote, possum, and skunk. If I get a chance to go for weasel, beaver, and otter I would.
