My pastor picks on the whole congregation just chooses someone but he gets back to the message quick we all pick on each other but it's a small church everyone knows everyone

Had a Great Uncle that was a preacher in a small rural northern Michigan church back during the Depression. He was a Fire and Brimstone sort of preacher.....could really fire up the flock when he got rolling. He was in fine form one Sunday and had a bunch of the folks feeling the Spirit come over them. One gal, a hefty girl of high passions, got overcome with the need to confess her sins, ALL of them, and she started naming names. Trouble was, several of those names were married parishioners sitting in the church alongside their wives! She was really unloading her burdened conscience and even named Brother Jim, who was my preacher uncle. As she kept on unburdening, Brother Jim started saying "sit down, Sister Jenny, sit down!". Well Sister Jenny didn't sit down until near the whole flock was brawling and wives were squalling. It was the sorta scene like that song Ray Stevens sang about the squirrel turned loose in that Mississippi church. The flock was disbanded, my uncle was fired as the pastor, and Sister Jenny was Saved from damnation. Several local menfolk followed the straight and narrow for some time as well, on account of their womenfolk had issued an ultimatum or two and none of these fellas could afford any lawyers or alimony, heck, most could barely afford their snoose bills, let alone a divorce!

In January of 1968, I had returned from my tour of duty in Nam. My mother asked me to go to church with her in my uniform. So upon going that Sunday, I got called on.

The question was what I thought about the whole issue of being there. I gave my opinion as it was then, prior to the 68 Tet offensive.

I have given my pastor permission to use any part of my story at any time he needs...I am an open book. Had a pornography addiction for over 23 years and God uses my brokenness to bring glory to Him and help men lead Godly lives.
