I have what i consider an almost mint copy of "Canadian Wilds" by Martin Hunter - $30 plus shipping - I will take PayPal or a check (held till it clears)

Copyright 1935 Hardback book, no foxing, stains, in all regards almost perfect

The following book tells about the Hudson's Bay Company, northern Indians and their modes of hunting and trapping. The Hudson's Bay Company was incorporated in the year 1670 and received its charter from Charles the Second, making it today the longest united company that ever existed in the world. In 1867 when the different provinces of old Canada were brought under the Dominion Confederation, the Company ceded its exclusive rights, as per its charter, to the government of Canada, making this vast territory over which the Company had held sway for nearly two hundred years, free for hunters, trappers and traders.

The author was an employee of the Hudson Bay Co. for a number of years, beginning about the time of the Civil War. He tells about the history of the Hudson Bay Co., Northern Indians and their ways of hunting, trapping, etc.
.
This vintage book contains a detailed treatise on the Canadian wilds during the eighteenth century, being a exploration of the significance of the Hudson's Bay Company and the history of the northern Indians. "Canadian Wilds" contains a wealth of insightful and fascinating information, and it is highly recommended for readers with an interest in Canadian history. Contents include: "The Hudson's Bay Company", "The Free Trader", "Outfitting Indians", "Trackers of the North", "Provisions for the Wilderness", "Forts and Posts", "About Indians", "Wholesome Foods", "Officers' Allowance", "Inland Packs", "Indian Mode of Hunting Beaver", "Indian Mode of Hunting Lynx and Marten", "Indian Mode of Hunting Foxes", etcetera.
