Recently heard our local Field and Stream was sold to Sportsman's warehouse. Will be completely rebranded. Wondering if they are the friends of hunters, trappers, and 2nd ammendment. Obviously previous owner was not. Hoping to be able to give them my business now. What say you?

Ill elaborate that im asking if they worthy of my business based on political leanings or other business practices. My gripes with Field and Stream were...

1. Owned by Dicks, enough said.
2. Would not stop blasting pop country at all times everywhere in the store and outside. It was an assault on your ears.
3. Besides generally high retail prices, they continuously had sale items ring up full price. This happened on at least 3 occasions that i know of. Mentioned to manager that it was a habitual oversight at best or intentional malice at worst. He blew it off. So i stopped shopping there completely.

Sportsman's Warehouse is similar to cabelas. They hardly have much trapping gear and that what they do have is never on sale.

I disagree. Everything they have is always on sale. It's marked up 100% then marked down 75% so you save money!

I'm talking about sportsman's trapping gear. Yes they always have sales on everything but I've yet to see a sale on any trapping gear on sale.

But the question was do they support the 2nd and the answer to that is ... ???? I hope so.

I used to but a lot of ammo there and a couple guns. Good place to Christmas shop too.

The one in Flagstaff, AZ has the best supply of guns and ammo that I’ve seen in a long while.

THe one by me had a lot of the field and stream inventory on sale. They wanted to get it out to make room for new stuff. I got traps 40% off i think.

Which Field and stream are they buying?

they already bought the one in camp hill. But i heard they r opening a new store in chambersburg. But I dont remember a field and stream there?

Sportsman's Warehouse has always been supportive of our state association, DU chapters, etc.

The one they took over down in Washington was an improvement. They sold off the field and stream stock for a while before they restocked with other stuff though. Some of the field and stream stuff, is horrible junk no matter the price.

Disabled vets and youth also.

This past Spring, the Field & Stream down in Kalamazoo was also sold to Sportsman's Warehouse.Seems to be a lot better place. F&S was way overpriced and their store brand stuff was of very low quality.
I usually support local family run shops if I can.

They carry our products and have for some time. Glad to see them expanding into Dicks stories which never carried much trapping "anything."
