I recently got a few traps that someone either weld the base plates on without the dring in place or cut Off the Drings.
Any ideas how I can attach the chains. How about a short piece of 1/8” cable and a swivel?
I plan to use them for coyotes and cats.

Duke has replacement clevises that can be used to replace the missing D-Rings.

Pry a lock washer open and install. Squeeze it shut and weld it closed

I can’t figure out how to post a picture, but I have an old Victor 1.75 that has a ring thru the base plate that would work. I don’t know what it’s called, it’s similar to the tear drop rings that are used to put chain on body grip traps. I’d like to find some also.

Maybe a split ring would work.

This is what I’ve done.

I have drilled a hole little off center in the baseplate and used j hook , but all baseplates are not the same. Some are low profile.

Use a #3 chain link. Open it up and weld it shut. Then add your swivel. Your swivel will then be just the right length to lay under the loose jaw

I had some on some sterlings that someone had cut off the Drings an moved them. I just cut the weld on the base plate an rewelded. Worked good
