Has anyone ever used these? Can you use them or dry land trapping? I've never seen them before and i'm questioning there practicability and usefulness.

I wouldn't. They only need to be pulled a few inches and the trap can come off the end. Easy design to get the rebar spinning too and then it pulls a lot easier. A nut welded on the end of a straight stake is the way to go IMO. I don't even like T-bars on land.

Had a buddy who staked a few CRs with T bars. Lost 4 coyotes by doing It.

I think J hook stakes are well suited for holding down a tent, not for any animal im going to trap. I do use, t-bar on land as well as nuts/rebar and sub set washers on rebar. One issue i have found with T-bars is after enough use and driving them in hard ground the welds start to become weak and tops will break off. I make all my own stakes and the only ones I will produce now is the sub set washer on rebar style. You are hitting the rebar direct instead of the washer or nut, this also upsets the rebar furthermore holding the washer or nut in place with a mechanical bond. Just my two pennies..

That T really help them start spinning the stake. I had a fox dispatch itself on the T after pulling the stake up about 8", took too close of a look at the T when trying to run past it.

I definitely see that happening, all my sets are double staked so I dont have a issue with stake spinning if I get something hung up on the stake I have many issue going on most of them not good. But like I stated there not my first choice for stake nowadays, just need to cut tops off and redo.

I figured. I didn't see it really working well for holding down an animal. I would rather use them to pin down a bait carcass than use them as trapping stakes. My exception to T bar stakes on land is for conibears only. They really are the better choice for water trapping.

That is a very good idea IMO.

I like that idea as well.I have used "T" stakes for that purpose. These may even be better.
