What month or time period is it best to catch those coyotes looking for new territory and how quickly do they replace coyotes previously caught? Last season I snared about 25 coyotes on a single ranch. I only had about 40 snares out at any one time but would catch up to 3 coyotes on several occasions in the exact same spot. I noticed that these weren't just pups or younger coyotes, but many were large adult males and females caught in the same spots in a fairly condensed area. Are adults moving in within a few weeks? In this area coyotes need a lot of area to survive and I wouldn't think several large males would be sharing territory of 2-3 miles. Thanks for any input.

Pup dispersal starts around now. Typical home ranges of coyotes start to expand as food supplies dry up. If you have a place that has naturally or unnaturally higher foid abundance, it just sucks predators to it.

Doesn't seem to me coyotes are overly territorial after pups are weaned up until denning. They'll establish and dispute dominance but don't seem to protect a territory.
