For the first time ever I've had one fail, costing me a coyote and an MB550. I ended up pulling the rest of my line since I'm back to work on Monday morning. At one farm I was able to pull 5 out of 6 with my hands. My cable length including the washer are 18" long. Ground is a mix of rocky soil, soft areas, and a mix of both. Has anyone else had problems with them? I'm leery of using them again. I know I'll get a million different answers, (which is good so I can do some research) but what are you guys using for anchors? Thanks

Chained wolf fang never has let down I have driven them in some rocky gas well roads no problem and they hold in softer dirt fields if driven deep enough.

Homemade 1/2 black pipe anchors. Usually 16" cable.

Done this for a few years but have changes over to Super stakes wit 16" of chain. Never had a problem with either way just like chains better than cable.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

When you drive them inthe ground you need to make sure you set them. Pull/yank your trap at a righit angle as against the hole. This gets them to tip and lock up i've had them and my homemade superstakes pull right back up if i don't set them I use 2 inch washers when ever i use them.

Was this before or after the monsoon this week?

We had some rain here, but not monsoon like, up on the ridges around here it's still dry as a popcorn fart a few inches down.

And I'm pulling them/setting them that way, just like I have always been doing, that's why I'm so confused.

Possible that it wasn't a coyote in the pulled trap? In SW PA maybe a bear got in it? Just thinking.
