For the first time ever I've had one fail, costing me a coyote and an MB550. I ended up pulling the rest of my line since I'm back to work on Monday morning. At one farm I was able to pull 5 out of 6 with my hands. My cable length including the washer is 18" long. Ground is a mix of both rocky soil and soft areas, and a mix of both. Has anyone else had problems with them? I'm leery of using them again. I know I'll get a million different answers (which is good so I can do some research) but what are you guys using for anchors? Thanks

I tried to save some money one year, so I switched over to all Pogo's on my canine line, after the 1st. two days trying to get them into rocky ground I went back to my Heavy Duty Berkshire Disposable Stakes, that was over 10 years ago, I'm still using the Berkshire's today.

I would try a better anchor. It's the most important piece in the puzzle that ties everything together. Or maybe you just need longer cable. I use wolf fangs. When you set them maybe pull them to see if you can pull them up and not just "set" the anchor.

Longer cable helps a lot, use the bigger washers a too.

I did move all my pogos to coon traps this year and went with bullet stakes on the coyote traps and longer cable.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Its all I ever use. Need a winch to pull them out.

Your doing something wrong. Do you set them after driving?

Instead of going to longer cables just cross stake with disposables.
