Hey guys.

I’ve always used wire stretchers but decided to make some wood fox boards tonight. The wire ones are quite a bit wider at the base. Is it possible to rehydrate my dry hides and then stretch them again on my new wood boards?

I wouldn't waste the time on a $7 fox. Just start putting the next ones on wood.

Wish I had more time to trap....

Ok thanks. I have 4 so I wasn’t sure if it’d be worth it.

Yes,you can although you run the risk of fur slipping depending on how the hides were handled to begin with.
If they were skinned fresh(no green belly) and scraped clean-(saddle and all fat removed)-then they will be ok.They will re-hydrate after a short soak, and dry quickly again.

Cool. I skinned them all as soon as I got them home. I might tan a couple I was more looking for uniformity.

Thanks
