Hey everyone! I moved and I’m currently in an interesting position. In this house I don’t have any inside room or a garage to keep my fur in for drying. I do have an outside shed but it’s currently not insulated. I can insulate it and run a heater while I’m home from work during the days but that’s the closest to regulating temperate I can do. I’m concerned with drying my fur out in that shed. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make it work or do you think I’m doomed.

You should not have problem as long as you have GOOD AIR CIRCULATION. It will just take a bit longer to dry the pelts.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Put a wood stove in it.When you skin in the shed with the wood stove going your stretched fur will dry fine.Leaving it cool down for a couple days in between skinning sessions wont hurt it at all.
This is how fur is dried in trapping camps in the bush.
It would be much better if it was insulated.

I live in a townhouse and skin in my 10x12 shed. It is tight but it works for me. I hang a fan and have a plug in electric heater. I hang all furs in a line and use a 2nd fan on them. It is difficult on rainy or damp days. But once dry I rent a small storage unit in town so they finish drying without a problem.
