With the 2020 and 2021 fur prices looking to be a dismal . I have decided I would like to use some of my pelts for trying my hand at making my own fur garmets. I am curious if anyone has any experience doing this or any resources to read. Anything I try to Google just has to do with the fashion industry.... I will most likely have a variety of pelts. Lots of coon some muskrats and coyotes and hopefully a few beaver . Any help or advice welcome! Thanks and good luck !

There is an awful lot to learn.
IF you want to learn the basics a couple week course thru a college will get you started on the right track-learn about pelt repair, matching skins, blocking, and how to use a fur sewing machine, and hand finishing.
The previous NAFA fur school is now being offered by George Brown college in Toronto by fur designer Farley Chatto.

Boco I tried to google that to see if it’s possible to do online and the cost but I couldn’t find anything. Do you have a link or website you could share?

I’ve had all my coons and red fox tanned from the past two seasons. I’m hoping to make a blanket and I’m thinking I’ll have enough fur after this season. I’m hoping that it will be easier than something you would wear. It might be a good idea to start with something simpler.
