We were seeing coyotes on the deer cameras in July 2-3 at a time and then nothing mid August until October we started again. . Come November we are not seeing them again. We don't have a lot of coyotes The food source hasn't changed. Is this normal?

I'd say it's normal animals have there set ways just as us people do. Could be a den location they check on every other month or hunting grounds they travel to every other month. I've had locations they would got every 3 days then others would take as long as 2 weeks.

Usually around November is the great dispersal where the young leaver their home area to find an area of their own to find s mate and stard their own horde. When that happens hot areas can become cold and cold become hot. Then also like the Hammer says, they can make a loop of the area that can take anywhere up to a few weeks to complete. Any number of things can shy them away or attract them to different areas for a period of time. Some times you just have to make the sets and be patient.

I always note more coyotes on camera when the corn comes down in our area. I think it forces them out of the crop fields back into the woods more. Might be wrong but that’s my theory.

Your not wrong its the same here, makes sense though thats where the prey is also. Alot of my coyotes eat a good amount of corn also, possibly in the critters they are eating but they dont chew it good enough.

Farmers always tell me see coyotes running out of the cornfields as they're combining. Last year the farmers had a hard time due to an early snow. Lots of corn was out late into the season and it seemed most of the dogs had left the country. Once the corn was gone then the dogs where back.

Same with deer. Harvest all that tall standing corn cover and they only have so many cover areas left to go to. Coyotes too.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Thanks to all for taking the time to reply. All the replies made sense along with the hunters that have been in the area for deer and the crops are now gone they may be following the food.
Time will tell

I've noticed their travel patterns change a lot when the crop comes out or there has been fall tillage. Agree farmers chase a lot out of corn when combining.
