Getting ready to move a building in for my fur shed. Was wondering if I should go concrete or just do a wood floor. The building is a 15' x 30' I believe. Free building so was wondering if I should just go all out and get concrete.

In 15 yrs you will be glad you went with concrete, lay old carpet on top to soak up the "stuff" and you will be doing good when clean up day comes.

I use lots of planer shavings on my concrete floor. Keeps it fairly clean.

IF you use wood for a floor, would you paint it?

That gritty stuff might make it no-slip, but it also makes it a pain to sweep, if we're talking man-cave type of place though, who cares.LOL non-slip would probably be more practical, might want to add a full length handrail and fridge for beer.

In your area I bet the frost is bad. Put down concrete and set the building on it. It will go up and down as one unit. LM.

Concrete is running right at $100 a yard here. That's just the concrete, labor is extra.

Put an extra sheet of cheap 1/2 inch plywood under you fleshing beam, and another under your skinning gambrel. At the end of the season you can just throw them out or wash real good outside to use next year.

Yes frost is bad. So pouring the concrete before moving building in is a must. Got someone lined up to get building moved whenever but it is getting hard to get guys for concrete around here.

Figure if you hire it done $2.50 or more per square foot for your flat slab. That's the low end, will probably be more. If it is a small shed 4 inch thick slab should do unless you are in a town with building specs that say different. For a fur shed, I would put a shallow rat footing around the edges to keep stuff from digging under there. The smells and warmer environment will be attractive to critters. You couldpour it your self pretty easy. We are not talking a fancy floor here so as long as you get it the right dimensions and square, and have someone there with some basic concrete finishing knowledge it's not too big a deal.

I would throw some rerod or wire panels in there just for the heck of it. Probably overkill but you only get one chance to put steel in.
