What are your thoughts on how a trapped Coon can take the dye & wax off trap & chain & make it look brand new?
Is it soil type? short chain? long chain?

Which trap caught the Coon (24 hr. check)?

Sandy bottom creeks will help a coon polish them up like new too. They must never set still til they are worn clear out.

They use their free paw to work on the trap. I have watched them do It. I'm sure dragging the trap around and biting It help but It's mostly done by constant rubbing.

ADC, this was sandy, Susquehanna River bottom farm land. Canine set.

I always thought the same as SNIPERB & Beav. Pawing & biting. Just wanted to know others thoughts. Thanks folks.
And think the sand had alot to do with it. Chain and swivels look new.

Boco, now I know why that 0000 steel wool was laying over there.

I actually had a trap that was powder coated partially shined up after several coon catches.
