You must have got the good ones. My duke 110s wouldnt fire either way. It was pushing against the dog like you said, nut pushing it up. Back in the 90s we were running short of 110s for a bottom edge long line and my partner went against my wishes and got 4 dozen dukes (I wanted BMIs). Long story short we wanted to pull that line because it was very unproductive LOL. As I was pulling I would walk back to the truck and try setting them off with my hand while walking- the trigger wires would bend before the trap would set off no matter which way I pushed, all
4 dozen were like that. The Victors and BMIs were still taking fur.
Wow was I livid. The effort and gas that I wasted on that spur line because of a defective piece of junk that wouldnt even try to work out of the box. No more dukes anything after that......

When i first started trapping i bought them because that's what stores had. Til i discovered trappers outlets on internet. I never bought any of them since. But I still have some and use them when all my others out. I do like there 1.5s. And all my beaver conis are 330 as I've never bought more for my beaver trapping. So as far as 330s are concerned I don't know any outside of duke. They have caught alot of beaver for me. But as far as 110s. I have some of them and some Bridger 110s. And definitely prefer Bridger. I even think bridgers 110s are cheaper too. And don't need to adjust nothing out of box. At least mine I dont.
