as long as its in oil Oil will help hold the scentto the spot ya want it.

try sardines in tomato sauce, sounds crazy but it works very good.

I find smoke is better for drawing coons, bears from a distance. When guys up here bait for bears they usually start with smoke fish to help bears find the bait but you can't keep bears coming so after they switch to fresh, pastry etc. I figure coons are the same but if the there's a trap you should get them on the first try, now if you were prebaiting then I'd go the same route as the bear thing.

always had better luck with jacmac and bacon grease
