I'm wanting to use some bobcat cage traps this year. But I'm so confused because I spoke to a man named tunget. I was kind of leary of him by certain things he said. Then I spoke with Mercer dlawing at cam trip cages and was going to by everything he had. My question is what bait and lure and instructional video would anyone of you recommend. Or point me in the right direction. If Mercer is honest I'll go with him. I just want the best.. I'm 49 and I love the sport. I just want a little honesty.

Mercer is a stand up guy. Has quality video and products. He has spent a lot of time studying and trapping bobcats. Not sure what he has out for videos now, but I seen one a few years back that covered terrain that would be different than S.C. but I think the basic principles would apply to bobcats in your area.

Bait and lure preferences can change for individuals over time. Just pick a few from reputable sources and see if they work well in your area.

Maybe someone else will chime in and provide some good references of reputable videos and products for bobcats from your neck of the woods.

I've got both of his Cage Trapping DVDs and they are great, he showing how to set up the cages for trapping cats and how to lure cats to go inside the cages too. If you got the cages, you should get his DVDs too.

Every trapper I come across from trapper Ed in March to those I have met all know and recommend Mercer. He helped with trapping tips when I bought cages. I’m very new to trapping but someone with that reputation and passion knows their stuff. You could say, he’s the guru of cage trapping.

And his traps are hands down the best quality.
