Looks like you did a good job to me. If I have a 50 lb. beaver, I end up with a 40 lb. Hide!

When I skin them I just get the bones out 😁. The more I leave on the pelt the easier to flesh and get a few buckets of good cat bait,

I don’t skin many beaver but they look the same. I’m thinking I need to a curved knife for clean skinning. But, I’m not sure it would save much time time for me

I've found clean skinning beaver much quicker than rough skinning them but I had plenty of practice back when the market for them was good yes I know I just gave away my age ha ha

As for a knife to use my favorite is still the Stockman 80T Oldtimer knife I've never gotten the hang of those round bladed knives .

Even at my advanced age I can rough skin a beaver In about 5 min. And It takes me about 12 min to flesh one. I'm going to keep doing It like I'm doing.

Beav, I expect nothing than that from a Marine. One day I’ll be up there with you. Lol.
