I’ve been looking for a good way to tan some hides at home, I’ve seen people try alum tanning, chemical tanning And brain tanning. I’ve tried brain tanning with a squirrel hide and it turned out okay. I also just salted a squirrel and once it dried I got it a little wet, worked it until it dried and it was the softest hide so far.
I’m wanted to start tanning some coon hides this year and I’m wondering what methods you guys use. Thanks

Boco did a great tutorial on it. I have a small beaver in the tanning solution and it's coming along nicely.
