CHIN UPS
Never put anything under your snare.
For a chin up- hang a 3" pine neddle on the bottom of your snare. No pine needles ?
Bend a 6" lenth of 14ga wire in half

Thanks newt, I always wondered about nose/chin guiding for snares. Not that we can use them here in Michigan.

You dont need a chin lifter unless your loops are high. They are handy if you are setting your loops high to avoid non targets.
One of our largest wolf producers here sets his wolf snares 6 inches from the ground.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
