Well done. So now what, I believe that gives you four and I think you have a five limit. Do you only set one trap at a time? What do you do if you get a double or triple again? I always felt if there were otter around, I had a chance of catching them in any beaver set. Did you have those set for otter or beaver when you got the triple? I would hate to be put in that position.

I will pull some more sets at two other locations tomorrow. I still have beaver to catch This winter and spring ...I call our local Game Warden if I get an over limit or out of season animal . If the "fur post" State owned Historic site is open I have been told by diff9wardens over the past 30 + years to bring the animal there. A donation of sorts. They use the Animals for teaching the public about the Fur trade!

I had it in my head you got 5 otter tags. Is all MN 4 tags.

Congratulations. Now we need to make a concerted push to increase the limit. There are otter everywhere and given their low prices and modest participation of trappers lately, it is time for the state to increase the limit. It’s been four up north since I moved here in 2006. At that time, there were parts of the state that were closed for otter. Now, it’s four statewide. So obviously they acknowledge the population has expanded. Time to increase the limit, at least in their core area. Trappers have to be responsible though, pretty easy to damage the population in a given area if you know what you're doing.
