Making up some wolf snares, gonna use a 750# breakaway. As a 250# one will open by a wolf. Question is will a deer or elk be able to open a 750# breakaway?

If you put a loop stop on the snare so It will only close down to about 3" you should have no problems with leg caught deer or elk.

According to Senneker that 750# breakaway has a universal rating of 420lbs. You can look it up on Canadian coyote company website.
