Tap them, hot water ran over the lids then try a pliers on the wider slot it’s easier to control the pressure that way.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Tap them, hot water ran over them . and even soak in hot water if needed THEN replace with plastic lids

Flip bottle upside down and apply a little vegetable oil ( or BTO) to the rim of the lid and let sit overnight someplace warm

Rubber husband
Ever heard that term ? Thin rubber pad about 6" in diameter , 1/8" thick , grippy surface. Usually given away as a promotion with advertising on it.
Put rubber pad on top of jar , grippy rubber increases your torque output.

Before putting bottles away for the year, clean, then coat the threads of the lids with Vaseline on Q-tip. Won't rust up.
