I'm sure it is old news to you salts. I am not to savvy on posting links so beings this is fur related to AK maybe someone could do it if you think it appropriate for this or traptalk . smith You can ride a fast horse slow but you can't ride a slow horse fast .

Antarctica trapper A Joined: Sep 2014 Posts: 91 Maryland	Interesting. Similar to T3/Fletchers Ice Island, which was an iceberg that circumnavigated the north pole for years, and was used as an air force base for many. I had a good friend who worked on it in the mid 70's..

When my buddy (dead 5 years+) went there in the 70's, we has just out of school. Found the cab of an old grader and used explosives that were all over the place to blow the ice/snow away until it was clear, fired it up and had wheels around the berg for the duration of his stay. Funny thing is that there became a scientific need for an explosives specialist after that, and they subsequently sent him to school to become 'qualified'. He dumped many tons of TNT into the arctic ocean for years afterward...
