I have used this system for years on beaver, coon, otter, coyote, fox and opossum. All worked well. In my experience, you are not bent forward so it is a little easier on your back and you use your stomach muscles more when using this system. Your shoulders also do get a good workout from lifting your arms so keep that in mind. I do not think most people do a lifting arm motion a lot so you will notice this when you start out. I picture a band conductor when thinking about and describing the arm motion for a comparison while holding a fleshing knife, you need to get used to it. Suggest starting out slow and not do a lot of fleshing the first day and gradually get yourself in shape. Also, keep the sharp knife sharp to make it easier on yourself. The instruction book that came with it was very helpful for both racoon and beaver. I like the system because I am working on the skin right in front of me and I am not bent over. Having all the flesh fall into the contained area is nice and helps keep the shed clean. It is adjustable for your height so it is individualized for you when you build it. I have had to re-install it a couple of times over the years when I have moved so made adjustments for changes in my height (shorter) over the years. If more than one person is using it that is a bit of drawback if someone is much taller than another user. I'm sure there are some creative ways to adjust for different height people using the system.

I also use a broad beam for beaver and both work well so cannot say one system is better than another. In comparison though, both systems work different muscle groups. If having both systems is an option, you can give some body parts a rest by using two different fleshing systems.

What ever trips your trigger. In my opinion you have a lot more control when pushing then you do when pulling. And the amount of time It takes to re adjust the hide would be a game changer as to time In the shed.
