I've heard frogs hibernate by burying themselves into the mud. Any one know if mink find frogs by seeing a partially exposed one or do they smell them??? Mink will get them even once the ice starts forming

I’ve looked at several coyotes over the years and have found a lot of small bird parts and pheasant feathers. Others have had very short hair that we assumed belonged to a mouse along with deer hair in many. The oddest was a coyote I killed from the deck one morning before work it was full of orange colored kitty fur , win win !

I’ve gutted over 60 wolves and taken notes on each one. Weight, color, location, stomach content, even scars or broken bones.

60% have empty stomachs or grass.

20% beaver toenails/beaver tail.

10% fawn hooves/deer hair

10% black bear hair, goat hair, clamshells, mice/shrews/squirrels

I have inspected a lot of mink. every time its mice. I use carp for bait.
Guess I am a slow learner but then again I hate to change whats working.
