I have a bulk roll of the thin white plastic thats used for table covers. I use it for patterning my shotgun loads from time to time its really thin like tissue paper. Has anyone ever tried it before I only have a few sets out right now and so far I really like it over anything else I have tried. I cut some squares out just big enough to fit inside my bridgers center it up over the pan. I'm not tucking the corners down or anything I start with the dirt over the pan and work my way out. As soon as it hits it.,It drapes right down over the everything nice and flat no bubbles/ humps or crinkly noise.I have used wax paper, pipe insulation, wire and plastic screen and polyfill all have worked Time and weather will tell how this works in the longrun. This is what I'm using Hoffmaster 114000 Plastic Tablecover Roll, 300' Length x 40" Width, White $14.88 from amazon

Do you know if it comes in other colors besides white?I think they had red and green might be more colors out there from different vendors. I did throw a handfull in my chest freezer to see it they would stiffen up or get brittle. Other than cold just a pliable as the one left out on the counter top. J

I’ve tried latex, plastic screens, coffee filters and the like. Then I read about Zagger’s pipe dream set. It took me a year of messing around but I’ve settled on Keg Creek’s black screen covers for my Montana’s and John Graham’s screens for my 550s. My buddy just found a roll of stiff aluminum screen up in the garage rafters and I may try that in the future.
Of all the stuff I’ve tried over the years, stiff screen and grass seem to be the best. Zagger knows his stuff.

I really like using crinkled wax paper on my MB 550's/450's. Works well, can be scent free if stored right, cheap, silent, prevents excess moisture. I also like using screen too. I worry about moisture build up with plastic but I'm not sure since I haven't used that material before.

All of those using Bridger 2 Dogless, I made a real close fitting trap. cap. All that you need is some 1.5" aluminum flat stock and a pop rivet gun.

Reading this thread reminded me of when I was young and just starting out setting flat sets. We used what was on hand, usually leaves. Lol caught lots of fur and the scent was just right. We would save them up and seal some in paper bags and some in a plastic box. Until they dried up and got crunchy they actually worked very well. Then we found what we thought was an old screen in the garage and cut it up and used it. The next spring my Dad whipped my hide for using that good window screen

I use the heavy duty landscape fabric. for years I used screen covers from MTP and when i moved to Wyoming i noticed the sand rolls straight through it and renders it somewhat useless. After a long search and fighting wax paper last year I found this stuff. It is black on one side and brown on the other and has the same rigidity as the screen covers i am used to. It adapted to my style pretty easily.
