Been busy lately. I was thinking about a journal, I got a few stories and pics to share from this season.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it!

You're lucky the water looks shallow there? If you go thru river ice here you would be in 20-30 feet of water in most places.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

That’s just overflow. It was -55 with the wind that night. I’m very lucky it wasn’t 10-12 feet deep and I’m lucky it was a short 45 minute walk to my cabin which I had already made a big fire in earlier

Scary. Lots of overflow here on the Lower Yukon and sloughs too. Glad you're alright.

I pulled the motor and split it at the bottom of the cylinders. Drained the water out then used oil to displace the remaining moisture. Carbs and fuel pump were taken apart and cleaned. Oil tank drained and flushed. Gear box drained and flushed. Every grease point got grease. Muffler and brake rotor got a light coat of oil before the rust started. A bit time consuming but when it’s done right it should eliminate all water and I’ll be back on my line tomorrow. Seeing that I had the skidoo in pieces I did a once over of everything. Secondary clutch had a couple issues but I got a second hand one from my old 570 that’s in good shape. I Haven’t really had to pull wrenches for a couple years. Forgot how much I enjoy being a mechanic. Bearcat will be better than before I sunk once I’m done.
